Trusting in Him

Well here I am pondering on another scripture dear to my heart. Tonight it is:

"Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid." Isaiah 12:2

Seems pretty simple we go to church, trust in God, and pray before bed... That sounds all so normal and average among ourselves and our Christian friends, but it is not the answer or what is going to lead us to a life of freedom. Some people just figure if they just say they trust in God then obviously they are trusting in God, but that is not the deal. Just because you say you are going outside and you have your shoes on, does NOT mean you are going outside. You actually have to get up and walk with your two feet and go outside. So must of us have our Bibles and say we trust in God and then we never actually move. WHY? Well because you are not actually trusting in God! That's why.

When you fell and got a "boo boo" you may have called for your mom and she would come running to bandage you up. God just wants us to call on Him and actually mean it! He doesn't want you to say, "God please help me, my husband has disappointed me so many times I need to divorce him and I just need You Lord to make this easy". Well guess what mistake number 1 was to get a divorce as the easy way out, mistake number 2 was to ask God for help and not really want help because you just told Him what you wanted Him to do for you. If you really wanted God's help you don't tell Him what to do to make things easy on you, ASK for His guidance. Think about that one, we need to ASK for His guidance and seek His wisdom to fill us so we make the right decisions and choices according to His word. God is not going to tell you what you want to hear and that is why we do not trust in God, we pray for things we want or think we need and then move in the direction WE want.

See God doesn't want you to pray selfishly, He wants you to think according to HIS Word! There is the A-HA moment I had when I realized this and this is what I said to myself, "Wait, have I honestly been so selfish to ask God for what I want or think I need and then just move in the direction I want to go? Okay wait seriously....I tell God what I want then move in the direction to get it?! YES that's exactly what I do....am I even giving God a chance to answer or work in my life?!"

That is the dialogue that actually happened in my head, and then I immediately apologized for my selfish ways. We need to trust in God, that our Father, our Papa knows best for us. We need to pray for wisdom and guidance instead of asking Him to give us this or that. Saying please God I need this job is great, but in God's plan that job is not where you need to be. Yes, you may be in need of a job and money, but you are not even trusting in God to provide and open up the opportunity that you are meant to be in. Trust in Him, seek His wisdom, ask for His guidance, and listen! Do not just move towards the answers you want from your prayers, wait on His path to open up for you...

Let's pray:

"In Jesus name I come to You God and I want to thank You for listening to all of my selfish requests and prayers. Thank You for continuing to listen to me even though I do not listen to You. Lord God You are the perfect Father, yet I have not respected Your Word. I am sorry God and I want to be humbled in your presence, seeking your wisdom, and honoring your word. You are the beginning and the end, therefore everything I do in between is YOURS. Forgive me today God and please let me always seek your guidance and heart before I ever look at my own flesh. Thank You God, in Jesus name, AMEN."

Holy Spirit Filled my Eyes

"For we live by believing and not by seeing" 2 Corinthians 5:7

This is the verse that was delivered to millions of people's email boxes this morning from Air 1's Verse of the Day email that goes out to subscribers. If you do not already get the verse of the day, please sign up for it on there website, which I will link to at the end of this, because every day that I read the verse it is like God is giving me my morning pep talk.

You may have read this scripture a thousand times, or heard your Pastor share it when referencing to difference teachings on seeing and believing. Today I saw this scripture in a whole new light and felt the Holy Spirit leading me to share it here for others to "see" what I was just shown in the spirit.

The first part, for we live, meaning we are alive, living, breathing, and brain functioning. That seems simple, for we live...then here comes the tricky part "by believing" and in other versions it can translated to mean by faith. When we believe in something, we put all our being into it and know with every part of ourselves that it IS. For example if you leave your car in the parking lot and you go inside the store and someone asks you, "Do you have a car?" Of course you would say, "Yes" How do you know it is still out there for sure? Well you believe that it is out there because you know that is how you got to the store in the first place, and you have the keys, so you believe without a doubt that it is parked outside right where you left it. With God we see everything around us showing He has put us here, and we have the key which is the Bible so there is no doubt God exists.

For the last part of this scripture it says, "not by seeing", therefore seeing means sight or vision. The spirit wants us to know within our hearts the Lord is there, God is there, the Bible is there without the sights of this world poisoning our beliefs or faith. This scripture is great to share with people first coming to Christ because a lot of us had the hardest time trying to understand how others could have such strong faith in someone or something they could not physically see. This scripture now has a different meaning for me as I have been on my walk with God. Of course our Daddy, our God wants us to believe in Him even if He is not in physically form, but He also wants our faith to be so strong that to us we have seen God in all forms. We are to believe so strongly that no sights are set on anything in this world and are to only be set on Him and Jesus Christ.

We can pray for this daily:

"God, I come to you through your son Jesus Christ, I want my eyes to be only on you Father. I may live among billions of people, but I want to be the difference in this world, for you God. I have all my faith in You Lord God and only You, therefore my eyes see You for everything You are. My sight is filled with Your greatness, Your holiness, and Your loving vision. I honor You with my eyes everyday Father. Thank You for your forgiveness, greatness, and gifts of vision." AMEN

Walk the Walk............in humility!

The title really says everything, but really most people think "Oh I am humble, I do not need to read on". Well that just shows maybe you are really not as humble as you perceive yourself to be. There has been many times I have missed my Blessing because I chose to tune it out, or listen, but only to automatically think of someone else the message applied to. On my walk I am still learning to walk in humility and God always ensures to humble me now when I become boastful, because really it is not about us...it is all about Him.

There are quite a few scriptures that have humility and becoming humble in God's word. Where I would like to start is Ephesians 4:1-6 (NIV):

"1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all"

Yes it's easy to see God wants us to be humble, gentle, and to walk in love. The scripture appealed to me more because it talks about the body being one, having unity, having a unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. You cannot walk in love and be humble without unity, becoming one body, only then will you be able to be open to receive revelation. Nothing came easy to me in life, but once I found unity in Christ and became into the body with others I found complete peace and was able to see where God wanted me. In your church, or Bible Study if there is not unity there will be no peace, no humility, and without humility and peace there is strife. Our walk with God does not need to be complicated: Stop taking offense to everything, stop gossiping, respect the elders in your congregation, and trust in the Lord.

That leads us right into our next scripture: 1 Peter 5:5-7 (NIV):

"5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
"God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble."
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

So 1 Peter 5:5-7 is confirming that we are to stand in unity, submit yourself to elders, and clothe yourself in humility because God opposes the proud. When we are proud and boastful we do not "see" things the way God wants us to. He wants us to love, serve, and show others through ourselves how amazing He is. See God cannot be visibly seen with our eyes (see Colossians 1:15), so He needs us to be His visible representation. If we are proud and boasting about what we have done, we lose focus on what He is doing. We should never get the Glory or Praise for God's miracles. If you want to see how God handles those who take credit for His miracles and good works read about what happened to Belshazzar in Daniel 5:22-24.

Maybe you have been having a hard time walking in humility lately, maybe you just want to make sure you are always walking according to His instructions, let's stand together in affirmation and pray:

"Father God I come to you today giving you all of my pride, I want to be humble, gentle, and walk sharing the love you have shown me. You live in me God, I want your image to reflect in everything I do Lord. I Praise You God, I Worship You God, and I will walk in humility God. Thank you for your graciousness Father God. I Love You Lord God. Amen"

We can LIVE

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet
inwardly we are being renewed day by day" 2 Corinthians 4:16 NIV

This bible verse shows us that we cannot escape from our bodies wasting away in other words we are all dying and it is noticable in our faces and bodies. Some people use creams or have procedures done to prevent their outward appearance from showing signs of aging. Some may embrace their aging features and stay focused on their inner self more. here is no doubt that the media focus more on looks so it has an effect on all of us. God tells us to focus on the impoertant things in life AND that he makes us new each and every day. We may not be able to stop thee process of dying on the outside but we sure can stop the processes of dying on the inside. So when you have had a bad day you made some poor choices... God makes us new EVERYDAY! So start forgiving yourself because the Lord already has and LIVE!

Joyful in troubles

"Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life"  Ecclesiastes 7:14 (NLT)

We walk with God, not man. When we walk and everything is going well we are happy and joyful. Then something bad may happen slowing our walk down, and then more things happen that make us automatically just sit down on the ground and give up. We are walking with GOD! The King of all Kings, anything is possible and He is there to pick us up. God has created both good and hard times as it says in the scripture above. He creates hard times for us to grow, He wants us to be the best person we can be and in order to achieve that we have to go through difficult seasons in life. Why do we just want to give up when we are in hard times? Our faith is supposed to be unstoppable, indestructible, and not of this flesh. We need to keep walking with God no matter what and realize He is putting us through these hard times for a reason and the rewards are going to be bountiful and glorious.

Let's Pray:
"God I want to walk with You at all times, and I do not want to give up when times are rocky. I want to keep walking with You no matter what. I pray that you give me the strength to never give up and to always trust in You. Amen"

Believe and Receive

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.Mark 11:24-25

Most of the times we ask God for healing, financial freedom, love, and other things we desire. God wants us to pray, but act as we have already received. If we know He always provides why don't we act like it? If I pray for God to heal my body from pain, right away I need to say "Thank you Lord for healing me!" I need to BELIEVE that He has healed me from my head to my toes. God always provides, heals, and loves. We just need to trust in Him and give everything up to Him.

Let's Pray:
"Lord, tonight I am going to give all of my worries and hurt over to you. Tonight I am going to believe You will take all of my pain away and I shall be renewed in You o' God. I BELIEVE You have healed and restored my mind and body God. Thank you for believing in me Lord now I am going to always believe in You!"
AMEN

Spiritual Gifts

It was midnight a couple of weeks ago as I was praying that God put all of stuff into my heart. I was talking to God and asking him what I need to be doing in life. I felt like I was being pulled in many different directions. At that point I wanted to quit my job and go into ministry full-time. That is not what God wanted from me so he began filling my heart to read about spiritual gifts. Of course I decided to turn the light on and try to keep quiet while getting my bible out since my husband was sleeping. Luckily since I love to read the bible late at night I have downloaded an app on my phone so I don’t have to disturb him.  Here is one of the first scriptures that just hit me over the head:
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (NIV Ephesians 4:10-13)
The two small words that I have made bold really just hit me because God wants us to be built up, build up, and keep building. Each and everyone one of us needs to search for those gifts he has given us. For some time I was not sure if I had any spiritual gifts, but then God gave me different scriptures to read such as:
“10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” (NIV 1 Peter 4:10-11)
RIGHT THERE! You now are told you have a gift! “Each of you” does not mean some or a couple, it means every single one.
Spiritual gifts build churches and keep them going. Without members of the church willing to use and share their gift the church and body of Christ cannot be fulfilled. Each member of the congregation has a gift or in most cases many spiritual gifts. A church cannot be held together by one person. Every single member in the church needs to reach out at use their gifts. If one is a good at prayer and faith then they can use their gift to reach out and call for prayer requests during the week. Another person may be good at giving or taking care of the needy (Mark 12:41-44) they can organize fundraisers and find charities to donate to. God put talent in everyone this is the meaning and truth behind  the phrase God-given talent. It goes beyond the cliche talent. This is the true meaning of talent God has put in every one of us. He sold no one short of talent or gifts. You may possess the ability of faith where you are just faithful to God to church and to people. You are the one who is a motivation and hope for all of us in the church. When we lose faith we always know you will have it. So you are the one who is there for people to turn to when they need some extra motivation. Maybe you have the gift of love. You are a natural lover you love naturally as Jesus did. You never find anything bad to say about anybody because you love everyone and all for their good. You are the one in church where people can turn to you and just know you are going to love them. You may start a bible study weekly for the church and people will come because they know walking in you will not judge them.
God’s spiritual gifts go beyond healing and prophecy so do not think just because you do not get visions or you cannot fully understand the word of God, that he has not given you a gift to use. I know he has and he is waiting for you to say, “God what is my spiritual gift, and what do you want me to use it for?” So when you have some free time ask him. If he gives you scriptures to read then open up your bible or click on your phone app and start reading because God reveals Himself everywhere.
Thank you for reading  ”You're Walking With God”
